TVAnts has been regarded as one of the best ways of watching live football for a long time. TVAnts Schedule
TVAnts is a very popular piece of software, meaning that it has a large number of users. This really helps when you are wanting to watch live football matches as the greater the number of users watching a game the better the picture quality should be. One thing worth mentioning with TVAnts is that it can take a little longer to buffer (prepare enough of the picture to be watched) than some other programs. If you are looking to watch a game with TVAnts it is best to get "on" as early as possible.

Once you've followed the prompts to get TVAnts installed you'll notice that it uses a 2 windows interface. The first windows is the administration panel, from here you can change your settings and select a channel to watch. Please note though that the channel list can take a little while to appear so you may have to be patient. Click on the search tab and your channel list will eventaully load, you can then double click a channel to select it. The status panel in the viewer will change to let you know what is happening. After a short delay the status should change to buffering and then the picture should start playing.
Once you've got your football match playing you can then switch to a full screen view if you like by holding down the ctrl key and pressing enter. You can use this combination to switch back to a smaller view as well. You can select an audio channel (left/right or both) using the selector below the picture, some channels have an English audio option (the best of these being the ESPN channel which normally appears near the top of the TVAnts channel list).
